From bicycle-transported rockets to lunar landings.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) started with incredibly modest resources. In the early days, rocket parts were famously transported on bicycles and bullock carts. Yet, driven by visionary leaders like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, India embarked on a journey to harness space technology for national development.
Today, India is a recognized space power. From the successful Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) achieved on a shoestring budget to the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the lunar south pole, ISRO has consistently demonstrated cost-effective and highly reliable space capabilities.
ISRO's backbone has always been its application-driven approach. The INSAT and IRS series of satellites have revolutionized telecommunications, weather forecasting, and disaster management.
